What Is the BrainCandy Kids Zone?

The BrainCandy Kids Zone is a special area of the BrainCandy platform designed specifically for children under 13. It includes a curated collection of age-appropriate games and includes special privacy protections required by law (COPPA).

Your child can play these games only with your permission. We require you (the parent or guardian) to verify your consent before your child can start playing.

The 11 Kid-Approved Games

🐱 Kitty Music Makers — Drag cute kitties onto a stage to make music together (ages 3+)
🦄 Pet Parade — Bounce on clouds, collect stars, meet cuddly friends (ages 4+)
🐶 Puppy Pounce — Tap flying treats before puppies catch them (ages 3+)
🐈 Kitty Cloud Jumper — One-tap kitten bounce, collect yarn and butterflies (ages 4+)
🫧 Bubble Beats — Tap singing bubble creatures in rhythm to build a musical rainbow (ages 4+)
🌈 Rainbow Doodle — Tap-to-paint creativity game with cute creatures who smile at colors (ages 3+)
🎀 Sticker Studio — Drag sparkly stickers onto dreamy scenes and tap to grow them (ages 3+)
🧁 Cupcake Cafe — Build cupcakes to match the customer's order with toppings and sparkles (ages 4+)
🌸 Fairy Garden — Plant seeds, water them, watch blooms attract dancing fairies (ages 4+)
🦄 Pony Dash — Pastel unicorn gallop through a candy meadow, jump rainbow clouds (ages 4+)
🫖 Tea Party Memory — Flip cute cards (cupcakes, teacups, kittens) to find pairs (ages 4+)

All games are hand-reviewed by our team to ensure age-appropriate content, no ads, and no third-party data collection.

How to Get Started (For Parents)

Step 1: Your Child Enters Their Age

Your child creates an account and claims to be under 13.

Step 2: We Request Your Email

BrainCandy asks for your email address (the parent/guardian).

Step 3: You Receive a Verification Email

We send an email to your address with a unique confirmation link and a summary of what we collect from your child.

Step 4: You Click to Confirm

You click the link in the email to verify that you are the parent/guardian and that you consent to your child using Kids Zone.

Step 5: Your Child Can Now Play

After your verification, your child's account is unlocked for Kids Zone games.

            Why we do this: This is required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a US law that protects children's online privacy. We must verify that a real parent/guardian has approved their child's participation.
        

What Information Do We Collect From Your Child?

Information We Collect (Minimal & Necessary)

Age Verification: Your child's confirmed age (under 13)
Parent Email: Your email address (for verification and communication)
Game Scores: Points earned in Kids Zone games (only)
Username: Display name chosen by your child (no real names required)

Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect or use:

Geolocation data (no GPS, no IP-based location tracking)
Device identifiers (no IDFA, AAID, or device serial numbers)
Behavioral profiles (no machine learning analysis of playstyle)
Third-party data (no sharing with advertisers or data brokers)
Photos or video (no camera access)
Audio/voice (no microphone access)
Contact information (no phone number, address, or friend lists)
Cookies or persistent tracking (session-only, no persistent IDs)

What Happens to Your Child's Information?

How We Use It

Game Functionality: Scores are stored so your child's progress is saved.
Safety: We monitor for abuse (cheating, harmful behavior) and can suspend accounts.
Parent Communication: We use your email to send updates about your child's account (optional).

Who Sees It

Your Child: Can see their own scores and profile.
Other Kids: Can see your child's username and rank on the leaderboard (first name + initial only, no real names or profile photos).
BrainCandy Staff: Can access data for safety investigations and support.
Third Parties: NO - We do not share data with advertisers, marketers, or data brokers.

How Long We Keep It

Active Account: Data is kept as long as the account is active.
Deleted Account: Data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Parent Consent Email: Kept for 1 year after account deletion (legal/audit requirement).

What Kids Zone Does NOT Include

Kids Zone is kid-safe by design:

No chat or messaging between kids
No private messages (DMs) or friend requests
No following or followers
No profile comments or public messaging
No video upload or livestreaming
No user-generated content creation (only official games)
No ads (contextual only, non-targeted)

Your Rights as a Parent

Right to Review

You can request a complete list of all information we have collected about your child. Email safety@braincandy.im with:

Your email address
Your child's username
Request: "Review my child's data"

Response time: 5 business days.

Right to Delete

You can request that we delete all information about your child. Email safety@braincandy.im with:

Your email address
Your child's username
Request: "Delete my child's account and all data"

We will:

Delete the account immediately
Delete all game scores and gameplay data
Delete your email address (except for 1-year legal hold)
Send you confirmation within 5 business days

Right to Refuse Further Collection

You can revoke your consent at any time, which will close your child's account and stop any new data collection. Email safety@braincandy.im.

Behavioral Advertising & Tracking

            ⚠️ Clear Statement: BrainCandy does NOT engage in behavioral advertising to children. We do not:
            Track your child across the internet
Create profiles for targeting ads
Use third-party ad networks in Kids Zone
Analyze playstyle to infer interests or predict behavior
Sell or share data with advertisers

        

If any ads appear in Kids Zone, they are contextual (based on game type, not on your child's personal data) and non-personalized.

Safety & Moderation

How We Keep Kids Safe

No Chat: Kids cannot message each other or adults.
Game Curation: All 11 games are reviewed by our team for age-appropriate content.
Fraud Detection: We use automated systems to detect cheating and suspicious accounts. Flagged accounts are reviewed by humans.
Report System: If a child encounters inappropriate behavior (from another user or in a game), they can report it. We respond within 24 hours.

What Happens if There's a Problem

If your child's account is suspended for violation of rules (cheating, abuse), we will:

Email you with explanation
Provide an appeals process
Allow 48 hours for you to respond
